Five Things You're Doing Well!

Part of homework from my T...so give it a shot too! Here's mine:

1. I did great today taking a day trip & taking a drive on my own

2. I am posting on here and venting--good job, Me!

3. I didn't spend a whole lot of money, but got out into nature & stuff.

4. I made myself dinner instead of spending money.

5. I talked to one of my friends about my feelings and it made me feel better.

YOUR TURN!

1. I went back to work at lunch instead of freaking out and going home.

2. I vented on BPD today.

3. I maintained sanity under extremely stressful circumstances.

4. I relaxed and treated myself to some tacos when I got home.

5. I made a list of what I need to do this week.

I completed an assignment. I have been working on it for over a year. it could have been done in a month but I lost my way. Felt good today and in just over 3 hours it was finished.

I made dinner for me and my family.

Not quite 5 things but 2 is still good

3. I sorted out my night out on sunday

4. Volunteered my services tonight at the theatre for a friends production even though i ended up working bar!

5. Learnt how to pull a pint of Tetley's Smooth

6. And sorted out my dysfunctional relationship....i think....

1. I am going to work when I'm suppossed to and haven't phoned in sick yet

2.I am going to get my hair cut today

3. I make dinner every night for myself and girlfriend

4. I was alone in flat last night and didn't binge eat

hmmm can't think of another one at the moment

I got up and cleared out my closet as it needed to be done...some type of smell coming from somewhere that needs to be taken care of...

I emailed my landlord about weird closet smell situation...hoepfully will be resolved soon

I am going over to friend's house to eat breakfast! :)

More later on today i know!

I cleaned out the room upstairs so the landlord can look at this leaky faucet....

I worked until the time I was supposed to and didn't duck out early

I asked my roomate to look at my charger for my laptop and we figured out the problem & fixed it.

I'm going to take a shower and attempt to relax now...

I posted on here & vented about stuff that was really bugging me.

I havent self harmed.

Im caring for my animals.

I havent totally given up yet.

Ive got the confidence to face my problems.

I went to church.

1 - I have a good podcast playing reggae and soul music and it's getting about 5000 hits a week!

2 - I'm going on a foreign holiday in the winter for the first time in 15 years. 2 weeks in Jamaica with my mate and his wife and another couple, they're hiring a villa and said I could have a room if I wanted. The holiday's only costing me 450 UKP compared to about 700 or 800 for a holiday there usually. I'm going to feel a bit of a gooseberry but it's Jamaica and I've always wanted to go!

3 - I've gone three whole days without snapping back at people on a music forum who keep calling me a "nutter" and telling me to get a life etc.

4 - I lost 2lbs in weight this week. It's tough going, some weeks I put a lb or two back on again but I'm slowly getting there.

5 - I've been well enough to get out and about the last couple of weeks and I went to a concert and saw reggae legends The Mighty Diamonds and had my photo taken with one of them!

1. I went out (and socialised) for the first time in 2 months last night

2. I never lost my rag when jostled about at the concert

3. I managed to be civil to my ex-girlfriend

4. I managed not to over-drink and humiliate myself

5. I managed to smile, despite constant questions - "Are you OK?", "Is it too crowded for you?", "Can I patronise you some more?"

In the last few days

1. Booked and part-paid for a very special holiday

2. Cooked a moussaka

3. Talked myself into a part-time bar job for summer (will be first time Ive worked for 5 years)

4. Restructured my finances

5. Generally got more organised, and out of the house more

1/ i went to the job centre for the first time in my life

2/ i made a cold call to a company to ask if they had any vacancies

3/ i searched the web for a job

4/ i cooked dinner for the family

5/ despite not really feeling up to it, i am going to badminton later tonight

Five, wow, this could be hard...

1. I took a nice lunch break and attempted to relax today.

2. I didn't let my dad's remarks get to me. Water off a duck's back!

3. I did not gossip to another employee! Whoo-hoo! That counts for TWO!!!

4. (see # 3)

5. I made breakfast and lunch and dinner all very well today, I would say. ;)

What a good tread this is!! I think its really good to focus on these kind of things.

For me

1 Am working on my impulsive behaviour and doing well so far

2 Am concentrating on enjoying the weekend instead of worrying about stuff next week.

3 House is nice and clean

Cant think of more well three is good too.

Ok, 5 things I'm doing well.

Here goes:

1. I'm actually celebrating my birthday, pub yesterday with friends pub earlier with brother for a meal.

2. Going to work every day (well the days i'm supposed to go) and being constantly praised for my hard work

3. I'm now in a stable relationship with my gf. Having Naomi around has really turned things round for me and my counsellor has really noticed the change in me too. I'm well on the way on the road to recovery.

4. I got my little car back on the road after 6 months. My pride and joy. I used to call it The NuNakka. It got severly vandalised and my hard work has finally paid off. I now call it The Phoenix. That's the one on my avatar pic.

5. I have managed to keep in control of my emotions quite well. 30th Sept my dog Sandy passed away. I called her my little pup. Made me very upset because we were very close, almost inseperable. I cried the whole night but after that I felt much better for doing so. Still miss her terribly but I'm not have bursts of emotional breakdowns like I used to before.

LOL....american word, for a tap, you know, at the sink ... or in the bath, the thing the water comes out of ... not what you plug it with -_-

1 i put the washing away been in a pile for about 3 wks

2 i have not quit my job but looking for another

3 i started assignment 2

4 i had a relaxing bath

5 i look after my rabbit ( he is getting a friend on sunday )

Velvet, this is a really great idea and I'm only sorry I didn't find it sooner.

Today I painted the last of the fence panels, ignored the phone (without feeling guilty), went shopping (feeling only mildly paranoid and scared) screamed at no-one (instead of everyone) and felt happy (for longer than 10 minutes) Thanks again and hope you are well.

1. I'm doing my homework for DBT and sticking with it (going to my appointments and practising skills).

2. I'm honest and I can admit to past mistakes. I know what I want to change although I feel like it's pointless because I'll be hated anyway.

3. I am a good friend: the kind that cares, helps, is loyal, and all that jazz.

4. I am smart both school-wise and in a talent I have for understnading people's problems and somehow helping (so I've been told. I'm not really sure what it is I do.)

5. I want to do something with my life.

4. I have only had one panic attack today

So glad I started this. Just what I always need!

1/ Worked today, wasn't too negative at work. Did good.

2/ Focused on my breathing on the way home.

3/ Realized when employees were gossiping and stayed out of it...

4/ Doing laundry as we speak--needed to be done. Doing laundry so well, too I might add! haha :)

5/ Came on here as some sort of...help...don't know where I am now. Point is, here I am!

3. Suicidal thoughts are easing

5. Eating a meal during the day not just a evening meal time.
