hummm_mabbe
what about pacman Somehow I never got to play them, I think they were more pubby type things. I remember pacman on speccy, and these weird scratchcard things where you rubbed out the little dots looking for grapes and avoiding ghosts or something ... I cant belive what it all turned into, how something that was like "my little world" became this multi billion dollar industry! Wish id become a games programmer back then, I might be rich now. Oh wellz ....

rmorgan_uk
ye but somtimes i think the games way back when, graphics were rubbish gamplay was simple took hours to load from cassette, but they realy where great fun. Nowedays yes some games are great but i somtimes think that the graphics are concentrated on to much sacrifiing the gameplay, or the games are far to complicated and take mounths just to get used to the controlls. with the epception of the nintendo wii that is fantastic fun. Barebones
I had ZXspectrum, my fav game was manic miner and pac man and antattack, oh god this does bring back memories, my dad updated the spectrum keyboard and added buttons and all that to make things easier, we also go all the latest games as he got them when was offshore. I think last time i saw my spectrum was 18 yrs ago, when i moved in with bf and we played it lol, that was before the playstation1. another game i remember was kingkong, attatic attack or somthing lol i used to beat my bro at these games. xx great thoughts here ty. Lol totally! And like, you couldnt save a game. It was so rare with some games to actually finish them - you would talk to some kid about a game, and they would go "I completed it", and everyone would go "wowwwwwwwww". Manic Miner for example, never got much past level 5 or 6 out of about 17!! That was why cheats were always so important, that was the first section I would always check in C+VG magazine! Nowadays you can either set the difficulty level, or plough on through and complete stuff. Games back then were HUGELY addictive though :)
hummm_mabbe
Somehow I always thought it was just my corner of the world that loved computer games, its so cool to see its a common thread running through so many folks lives, and a really happy one too!
