Thesis Corrections Accepted

Recommended Posts

Another milestone on the way to getting a PhD... my corrections were accepted today. So that means I've got nothing more to write, no more exams, no work to do. Only arranging to have it printed, and bound, and a few little forms to fill in.

And then there is a graduation ceremony, which I am not going to (I'll graduate in absentia).

Oh, and I'm giving a talk to the staff and research students at my university on the 16th April about my research!

I'll be celebrating over the weekend :D.

Well done :D what do you study? x

Computer science/artificial intelligence.

I did something quite unusual and specialist, so I'm not going to say exactly what. There are some 2-word phrases that you can put into google and I come back as the first hit lol.

Thanks everyone.

And good luck Liciane on your long, hard and lonely quest. It will be worth it in the end, I promise! :)

Thanks Data!!
Enjoy your weekend and have a good celebration!! :masked:
I think, for us, who have special feelings and moods, get a degree like this is more challenging.
Last year, I had a very important crisis I felt very bad, wanted to die many times. I told to my supervisior and some of my collegues, but they didn't understand me.
Last year was a very lonely year with my personal things and also to my Phd. This year, I'm little bit better.
But, you know, I always feel better when I'm studying or doing my research.
Two doctors recomends me stop with my Phd for a while because of BPD...but I keep going with my life, I think it was the best way for me- keep doing things that makes me valuable and happy!!!! :rambo:
Best!!

Thanks everyone.

I am going to the printers/bookbinders today to collect the printed copies, which cost me £60 EACH!!!

They do look good. I packed up 2 copies in a box today along with the forms and an electronic copy on a CD. I am going to send it special delivery tomorrow.

I have found one mistake; the title page says "October 2012" (which is correct) but the spine says "2013" (which is wrong). I am hoping they don't notice, otherwise... its £65 a copy to have it reprinted!

I am going to take my copy into work tomorrow to show off :D.

Well the university has told me the thesis will have to be changed because of the incorrect year on the spine. However, they are hoping they can glue a new spine on top of the old one. What a pain !!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Have received an email today saying:

"The pro-vice chancellor for Research has approved on behalf of the senate, on the 25th March 2013, that you be awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy".
