piercepd
Mephistopholes fell. From her pedestal. She tumbled, The spell broke, Light streaming in, Life held, life unbalanced, Life restored, life, in disbelief Once more. Mephistopholes fell. From her pedestal. Her image frozen, Her brushstrokes Locked in motion. Three wooden steps, From base knowledge In which she is but a tale. Mephistopholes fell. From her pedestal. And nothing, Save everything, Changed. Humblegrub
I like it, what was going through your mind when you wrote it though? X
piercepd
It's actually an incident from school that I remembered. We did Faust and the girl playing Mephistopholes was onstage all the time, on a pedestal made from the library steps, in front of a painting of her, coming down to the action when she was involved, the painting coming to life. One show, she slipped and fell off the steps, house lights had to come up so the spell of the show was broken until it restarted. Prosaic but made a nice flow I thought.
