dug89
I'm on citalopram for more than 2 weeks now and the only side effects I have is sexual disfunction and sleepiness. I'm currently on 40mg. But I was wondering if I swap to a different SSRI, do I have to start on a low dosage and increase it after sveral weeks? Or will I be able to use the new SSRI with higher dosage? artemis84
I think this is something you need to discuss with your doctor. In my experience, it is usual to start any new drug at a low dosage to monitor any unwanted side effects or reaction. But I am not medically trained. Ask your doctor - they should be happy to answer any questions you have about your treatment. Just to add, 2 weeks is a very short time in the grand scheme of medication with these kind of drugs. bluemoon5
sorry I don't know something for the gp or pharmacist I think, why would you want to change so quickly though it takes a good 4 weeks to see if they work.
