Xanax

Have you ever heard of Xanax deepening depression or more specifically, causing crying jags? Last night I had a bad night of crying, and I feel

like it has something to do with medication, and I wonder if it might

be the Xanax. Have you ever heard of this?

Budgie, have a good time. Hope it's somewhere

sunny and warm.

Bets, I can take up to four .5 mg/day, but

don't usually. Usually only two, which I don't

think is very much. I quit it for a couple days,

also quit the Wellbutrin and haven't gone back

to it yet, but am staying on the Seroquel and

Zonegran. The Seroquel helps me sleep and slows

down the thinking (I think) and the Zonegran

STOPPED the self harm in it's tracks.

Zach and Axelle, thanks for your thoughts...

Hi Verbena

Sorry to hear that you had a bad night. This is some info that I have found on side effects of zanax;

What are the possible side effects of Xanax?

• If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking Xanax and seek emergency medical attention or contact your doctor immediately:

· an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, face, or tongue; or hives);

· sores in the mouth or throat;

· yellowing of the skin or eyes;

· a rash;

· hallucinations or severe confusion; or

· changes in vision.

• Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take Xanax and talk to your doctor if you experience

· drowsiness, dizziness, or clumsiness;

· depression;

· nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation;

· difficulty urinating;

· vivid dreams;

· headache;

· dry mouth;

· decreased sex drive; or

· changes in behavior.

• Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

It lists depression as your crying might be related to that but as other people have already said - check it out with your doctor if you think it being caused by meds.

I hope you find out what is causing this and that you feel better soon.

Take Care

Amanda
