Kill Your Tv

Ok, so my friend (male) has been telling me he's hooked on the new HBO show "Entouage" (sp?). I happend to be watching tv and came across it; i decided to watch it to see what all the hype is about. I watched about ten minutes of it and had to cut it off. within this ten minutes:

-one guy is having sex with a girl and then it cuts to his next scene and he's with another girl...kissing her and all.

-one guy has a friend on his couch and he has his hand in his pants and is watching a porno...while his friend is standing there.

-two guys laugh about how one guy "screwed" the other guys secretary and that now he is "going to have to sexually harass his secretay until she quits".

-the group of guys in the show are putting on a party and are passing out flyers to girls (very tall, skinny, pretty girls) that all seem to be walking around randomly...as if all the men in the world vanished and only models walk the earth.

It's so degrading to women it's put me in a state of rage! i'm tired of this reoccuring theme in tv....it's all over!! and now i'm pissed at my friend being hooked on this show...how the hell can people buy into this crap that people sell us...:angry:

i'm not saying i'm perfect...but this has just put me over the edge. does anyone feel my pain? thanks for reading my rant

Yes I do completely relate to your feelings the media is a nightmare for women and it really doesnt help our insecurities. I used to not be able to watch television for those reasons its just so shallow, so I appreciate your rant :)

I agree that TV isn't very enlightening in most cases. Though some shows claim to be hip, they are really just trying to shock, because it brings in money. We don't watch enough to justify paying for cable, but I do find myself watching quite a bit of PBS in my bedroom, while he watches whatever he watches in the livingroom. My husband is a very nice fellow, but he is after all, only a man. I don't try to judge him.

I feel your pain too kristy!....I personally believe that many of our society's problems are because of the trash on tv...little girls are starving themselves because they dont look like kate moss.....little boys are taking guns to school, because thats what the actors are carrying around...and MOST OF ALL....men are treating decent women like shit because thats all you see everywhere...and its "cool." I really feel bad for the next generation...my kids......I dont think one marraige will last!! It really is sad........... -_- .............Audrey.................

I killed a tv once, it wasn't mine, I'd just come home from a night out, and I flung my arm out and it fell off the side and I was powerless to catch it.

You're right, it really annoys me too. I can't kill any more T.V.s though.
