Bpdworld Shindig

In the absence of BPDWorld chat I’ve just been chatting on MSN with Dolphin and Rachel and an idea has come up, why don’t we organise a BPDWorld Shindig.

I live in Meltham, a small Pennine village on the outskirts of Huddersfield, not far from Holmfirth, where Last of the Summer Wine is filmed, a beautiful part of the country. Even better it’s not far from Wakefield, (around 10 miles), where the BPDWorld HQ is. As Dolphin and her B/F are having a bad are having a bad time with their neighbours I invited them to come and stay for a few days of escape and the idea has grown from this.

Why don’t we organise a meet?

My place is only small, a typical local Yorkshire mill workers cottage, but if peeps are willing to camp out on floors and inflatable mattresses, a few could doss here for at least a night and any overflow could put tents up on the beautiful lawns the fire station across the road from me has. :D . and I’m sure other local and inexpensive accommodation could be sourced for those who can’t find floor or F/S lawn space, and just think of the surprise Joshua would have, us all turning up on the doorstep of BPDWorld at the same time to harass him :D . It might even drag a few hermits from their caves.

Just a mad idea at the moment but perhaps we can build on it?

Comments welcome.

Highest regards,

Phil XX to all

U not heard of Easy Jet or Ryan Air. I'm sure room could be found for you somewhere, even if it is cuddled up between Pip and Doplhins doggies :D From the sound of it, I need to build some kennels for all the pets :D

We do organise events now and again. I consider this a much safer option that members meeting others on there own. If enough want a meeting arranged im happy to do this.

I'd really like to meet people,

And U know I would have ever intention of coming, but I also know if I was having a bad day I'd just hide!!!

Would I be welcome?

Would it be ok to bring the better half? He's really laid back and a great person, He could even bring his guitar if anyone was up for sing alongs....?(he plays mostly rock stuff but can play old classics too.)

If you have any interest at all in meeting like minded

people - people who have supported you and who you

have supported, I would strongly encourage you to let

Joshua know this and use every ounce of courage you

have to attend any event. A year and a half ago I flew

from Moline, Illinois to Chicago to fucking Paris airport

which was a nightmare of an airport I won't even get into

that - to Manchester where I was met by a BPDWorld

member. The money exchange was closed, and though

I was able to put my train ticket on my charge, she loaned

me 5 pounds for a cab, and a pound for a phone call in

case I needed it, and showed me how to use the phone,

then sent me on my way. She was unable to travel on to

Wakefield with me. I found my way to the first BPDWorld

conference alone. I was up for probably a full day by the

time I got to the motel, but when I got there, BPDWorld

staff were on hand and made sure I was OK, and I was

well taken care of for the next three days. There was a

social with music and dance (no pressure to dance, drink or

talk - no pressure at all), and there were a few times we

got together for breakfast or dinner. There was a lot of

laughing - Josh is the smartest, funniest person and the best

host you'll ever meet. And it was all people I had read or

talked to in chat or seen in the forums, and everyone was

so accepting of eachother. It didn't matter what we looked

like or what we wore, or how we acted, or if we wanted to

sit alone to eat or stay in bed all day or get drunk or smoke

our brains out or be too happy or too sad. You will not be

sorry, I absolutely guarentee. And if you want just a very

small group with no drinking or music, let him know that too.

But I agree that at least for the first meeting, it is a better

idea to have it arranged for you. Have a good time.
