One unit of alcohol is: ½ pint average strength beer/lager OR one small glass of wine OR one single measure of spirits.

If you scored:

0-7 Well done, you are a sensible drinker. Make sure you stay aware of how much you drink and look out for your friends and family.

8-15You drink a bit more than you should, and this could affect your health in the long run. Keeping a drinking diary may help you to see how much you drink and where you could cut down. If this doesn't help, visit a doctor for more advice.

16-19 You are a fairly heavy drinker, and could be damaging your health. You should consider visiting your GP for advice on how to cut down on your drinking.

20-40 Alcohol is causing you to have health problems and having a detrimental effect on other aspects of your life and the people around you. You are a very heavy drinker and should seriously reduce the amount you drink. Visit your GP for advice. They may then refer you to other sources of help and support in cutting down on the amount you drink.
