janey
Hi all, I have been on 20mg citalopram since around last July and have been told to change to Prozac 20mg (to help with my PMT). Basically, my GP has said that I should just swap over the meds immediately, but I'm really worried about withdrawl and side effects. Can anyone advise? Thanx
Paula
if your doctor has advised this, i guess it will be fine. i had this same meds change a few years ago, and cant remember feeling any adverse effects. i have just been put back on prozac, so we can see how it goes together!

I swapped from my citalopram last night and took the Prozac. Has it helped you at all? Been having very vivid dreams recently and keep waking up feeling really confused, not sure who i'm talking to and whether I've fallen out with anyone close to me. It's weird... When a person has to be patient about something, it basically means they are stuck for the moment and can do nothing about a situation until the time comes - that DRIVES ME NUTS!! Lauren
Pinks, your gp should be able to refer you back to your local mental health team. Has he done this? He can even request that you be seen urgently (urgent often meaning a few months, but better than six ) A few years back I spent time in hospital to get on a med as the side effects where putting me into a crisis. It wasnt great fun, but i was kept safe and eventualy the side effects went and i was able to go home and benifit from the med.
