Hi all,

I found this its an emailgroup for practising DBT this might be a really good thing for people who for some reason can´t get DBT in real life.

Its free also.........

I don't like the idea of "virtual" therapy at all: it sounds as false as making best friends on the internet with people you simply don't know. How the hell are you and this therapist supposed to verify your progress if you are never going to meet face to face?! If it doesn't work, do you get a refund or is it the patient's own fault (as always)?

It's free, so if you want a refund you will recieve nothing in return for nothing that you paid.

Thank you, Lilly - I went and signed up. I very much appreciate "leads" for further self-help; thanks again! :)

i've been doing dbt online for a few months now and it does help. i found the dbt group through http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/dbtclass/

it works with a group, each member has homework sent to them every saturday and you complete the homework and send it to the group. you also recieve the homework posts from the other members and a respsonse to your homework from the moderator.its quite hard sometimes but it has helped me in the way i react to my emotions.

I wouldn't mind starting a DBT workshop here on this forum if anyone is interested and I'm allowed to. I know I'm not a qualified psychologist but I'd be willing to have a go as a peer support person under the supervision of someone qualified like Josh.

I have a real heart for it.

Hi Lilly, I also signed up but never heard from them ... any guess why. They say membership must be approved by the moderator. Not approved I suppose.

P.S. The introductory group sign up stated that the group does not exist anymore.

Hi!

There's also a Yahoo group: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/dbtclass/ It's very active. I lurk, but reading other people's homework and the mod replies is very helpful to me.

I'm a member of the Yahoo group one. It's been really helpful. It's not the same as being in therapy, but it's a great chance to learn the DBT skills if you can't access "proper" DBT.

Thanks Lilly this site is a great find for me as I don't have access to dbt classes or groups where I live.
