LadyMacbeth
Do you think its possible that someone can be borderline or show borderline traits and it can just disappear?

flippy
I read somewhere that you can grow out of it as you get older but i dont know if it is true. I'd love it to disappear flippy
LadyMacbeth
No Its hard to explain but I think that many people can exibit traits but they may be an underlying cause for something else.
lostsoul
and when the underlying cause is dealt with, the traits 'vanish' ? yeah that makes sense.
LadyMacbeth
I've been thinking about it bc I showed traits for over two years but I felt as if I was not in my body for this amount of time. And out of no where I started to come back and I think thats why I started having the panic attacks because I lost touch of reality during this time...I became avoidant...you get what I mean. I know I show traits still thats obvious I have been thinkingabout it after my conversation with my therapist today.

Ginny
I think it can be beaten with the correct therapy (DBT I suppose - or CBT) I guess its all about doing the hard work to retrain your emotional mind.... if it can be done.
