always the victim

it's a role i play so well

i can manipulate the situation

to make me feel that way

i've lived a life of being wronged

of never getting it right

of trying to please

till i'm down on my knees

and begging

always so sorry

for my pitiful soul

i can make sure you feel

like you're in control

i never did know

why i was born to be used

but i do it so well

and it feels kind of safe

to carry on living that way

really good poem and can see myself in it sometimes. i guess when you are used to something, good or bad, then its oddly comfortable, anything else is the unknown and (in our minds) cause for fear.

thanks over the years i have seemed to return to this role again and again. feels more comfortable to me than anything else. something i'm working on! x
