its a horrible situation to be in and it must be so hard to think you could be losing him. it sounds like you need to have a really long talk with him, the more you blame yourself and do what he wants then the more likely that will become the pattern. i know how frustrating it is to feel like you are the only one trying. if he says about you needing to give him space then ask him why moving in together was being thought about if he thinks that cos you'll get little space from each other there.
