When I Close My Eyes

Sometimes I close my eyes

to take away the pain

I imagine a new world

that is beautiful and good

I see flowers more radiant

and grass as green can be

and trees that tower over us

and reach up to the sky

I see animals big and small

that bound across the land

and everyone is smiling

and holding each others hand

I hear laughter and joy

and love in every voice

I hear the wind that whispers

peace forever more!

I think perhaps when I am sad, sometimes instead of dwelling on it I should close my eyes for a bit and imagine a world like this.

i have read all of the poems and they are really good. i like this one because it reminded me of the place i go to when i need comfort (its usually involving me being at a music gig or meeting bands) but it really can keep me going when i need it, we all need an escape into our perfect world.
