What Life?

Caught in a web of material things,

This world that weaves its net!

we look around for what life brings

and grab at all that we can get

We don our masks and costumes

and busy ourselves with routine

Then breathe polluted fumes

and germs and toxins that go unseen

what sets us apart from one another?

what makes us better than the rest?

Is it to be like the girl on the front cover?

or to always be the best?

Do we have to do it all alone?

Is it who..or what you know?

Or is it the things that we own?

Maybe it's the places that we go?

Is it the risks we take?

and the bravery we show?

or are we all just fake?

and going with the flow?

Is it the loves we've had?

or the loves we've had and lost?

Is it the good times or the bad?

and should we win at any cost?

What meaning does life hold?

what purpose do we serve?

These questions are of old

but what answers do we have?
