Ticket Issue Must Read

I’m afraid that it’s with regret I must inform you all that from this moment on we will be making a £1 charge for each technical support or how to..... ticket we receive.

This has been caused by countless numbers of emails requesting us to inform people of how to change their gender on the forums, their profile picture or even adding a picture to the forums. Each of these issues can be resolved by the user spending the time to find the answer. The charge for submitting tickets is to act as a deterrent not for any other reason.

Our priority must be to continue to offer support to the many people that write to us each and every day. This is offered free of charge and will continue that way.

Should you be reporting an issue that is not spoken about in faq’s, knowledge base or help files then we shall happily refund your money.

As i said if the issue is a fault with the software or one that isnt answered any where else then it will not cost a penny. This is for people who continually submit tickets instead of finding the answer themselves. Any tickets submitted prior to this rule wont be affected.

can we start a thread, were people can come and ask questions if they are having problems, and then the whole forum can reply to each other, im sure most people know how to do things so we can all try and help each other???

just a suggestion xxxx

Since we are paying customers now, perhaps we should not be restricted to asking about the forums.

Hey if its £1 a quesion:

Where have my spare pair of glasses gone?

What is the meaning of life?

Seriously?!

This is the best solution you could come up with for dealing with people submitting tickets on bullshit? Punishing people who actually help you make the site work better by making them pay and then having to demand a refund? You're not deterring the bullshitters you're deterring anyone who needs help with a technical issue.

This is a bad move in my opinion. I realise you need to deter people from submitting tickets on bullshit, but doing it on the backs of the ones who are trying to help is ungrateful. I won't be submitting any more tickets, since there's a cost involved. So you've already lost the assistance of one person who wasn't abusing the system as a result of the new policy - Mine.

I find it questionable that this is really only meant to deter people who waste the tech team's time. It stinks of ulterior motives, in my opinion. Maybe there's a real reason to add this cost and if there is, I'd rather know that than get told it's the one cited. The reason given seems, to me, unfair and unwise.

Are you suggesting im lieing?

Its unfair to expect the volunteers of this site to continously answer the tickets of people who are unwilling to search the user help manuals. This takes much of our time away from support which is what we are here for. I dont see why this is an issue for those who genuinely have a tech support issue.

Look through the manuals

Dont find an answer

Submit a ticket

Include you couldnt find your answer

We confirm its not there

We provide the answer for you and refund the £1 - There is no need to demand a refund, Its given with a smile :) See.

We add this question to the user help files.

How are genuine people who have done their bit to loose out?

I'm not suggesting you're lying.

Some genuine people who do their bit, like me, won't want to deal with paying for support. I'm not gonna go through the trouble of transferring funds, even if it's just £1, just to open a tech support ticket.

Why do I have to pay (even if I eventually get refunded I'm still paying) for volunteer work? You could simply make the decision to only provide tech support via ticket submission, and put a new system in place for paid user guidance. Instead I'm getting charged for something so that people who want help are deterred from getting it?

I'm sorry, this is not a logical solution to the problem you're having, which I understand and can relate to from a support specialist's perspective. That's why I question the reason you gave for it. It's not that I don't believe you, it's that I believe you're smarter than this.

  • 4 weeks later...

I have just submitted the ticket. I have tried to find out how to pay the 1.00 by visiting www.bpdworld.org/ticket as stated in your text on the ticket but I am getting an error message (error 404 - Component not found). Please can you tell me how to pay.
