befuddled Posted July 24, 2004 Report Share Posted July 24, 2004 Ok, I need to explain something and maybe you want to ask me to stop doing it. Since I work online I usually have a lot of windows open. Most of them to sites I work with and some to sites I like to visit when taking a break. So I usually have a window open to here, so I pop in quickly here and there during the day. This makes it very convenient for me. Unfortunately it is confusing on this end as it appears like I am always here, my name is always listed as present even though I am not actually looking at the site at all. I can see how that may be causing some odd feelings - like why am I not answering a mail or coming to chat or whatever even though I am here? Well, this is the answer and maybe I should close the window. It would mean I stop in a bit less often is all. Let me know if this is a bother to anyone. I'll close the window. Betsy Posted July 24, 2004 Report Share Posted July 24, 2004 befuddled, i could see why you might think that. i have another idea tho... if you log out and when you log back in check the box so that you dont show up as a listed member. if you are in chat your name shows but if you are viewing the board or posting you just show up as an anonomous member. as one Paranoiack to another... i know where u r coming from...
