Have a mortgage - at the time we took it out I had a job with 9x income death in service cover so it was agreed that should anything happen to me the mortgage would be covered. Was nice and stable, ticking along like a normal person (albeit with meds). Cue a rapid decent to depression, OD and SI and becoming unemployed - no death in service means the OH is buggered if I get hit by a bus or something (and I mean accidentally), so I need to find some form of life insurance - only problem is I am having is finding a decent company who will cover me. A letter from my P doc to my GP I recvd today said the BPD is not a serious mental illness, however it does cause distress and requires treatment. So does it count as a pre existing condition as its not a mental illness according to my Dr? Recommendations for good companies in the UK would also be very useful if anyone has them.
