Dibley
I know I have more than depression. My feelings get worse each day. I need to get help and this time stick to it. I can't go to the doctors and tell them what I tell people here, they will laugh at me or just not understand. Does anyone know anywhere on line that I can write out how I feel, to a Doctor, and then they can contact my Doctor and tell them, so when I go, they already know and I won't have to go through it all? Wynter Grace
Hi, I don't think I know anywhere online. But, it is good you know that you need to receive more help. I've had the same doctor since I was a kid, but it took me about 5 time before I could tell him anything, because I thought he would tell me not to be so stupid. He didn't, he was really understanding and I felt so relieved to finally let it all out. Try and go to the doc's hun, they won't laugh at you. I know it's scary, I still get scared going to the doc's to talk about it, but it does help. We are all here to support you hun xxx
Dibley
Thank you. I just don't think I can tell them everything that I feel. I will probably just tell them the usual, and I don't want that. xx
Wynter Grace
Maybe try writing it down, or prining of some of the post you made and show them. Just an idea xxx

Dibley
I'm gonna try. Just thinking whether it's best to see a male or female doctor.
catsmother21
I'd see whichever doctor male or female that you think you will feel more comfortable with. xx
Dibley
I only felt I could communicate with one and he was male. But he got angry with me and only gave me 'one more chance' and I blew it, I never turned up. So too scared, ashamed and embarrassed to see him again. Villan
is there one doc at your practise that specialises in MH stuff - some practices have websites that detail such info... failing that, is there a friendly receptionist or practice manager or nurse that could recommend the best doc there for mh stuff? Dibley
There could be a nice that always seems nice to me, but I just feel they look at me funny and I feel they are thinking all kinds about me. But I do need to go, I have to go anyway in the next few days. I just have to try and ignore what they are thinking about me. xx

marty1970
I am obviously a man, to look at me I am quite a well built man who has just turned 40, so for me to walk into a Dr's room sit down and blub like a baby took a lot of courage..... and do you know what , it was the best thing I have ever done. He sat there and listened, not once did he laugh or tell me that I was stupid ! If a Dr in 2010 laughed at you or told you that you are stupid they would be struck off !! Depression is far more common than most people realise, I sat at a table Saturday night with 5 other people having a dinner party, I know for a fact that 3 of us suffer with depression ! Please be brave and go along, I think that writing it down and giving it to them to read is a fantastic idea, be honest with them, they WILL help you. Good luck x

lonelyheartemma
if a doctor laughs at you or gets angry with you that is the most horrible feeling but thats their failing not yours. and most arent like that. I think the idea of writing a letter is a good one, if it has the doctors name on it and it says private and confidential they will have to open it themselves but when my test results got sent to me and my doctor i got the results the day before the apointment but when i went to the apointment the doctor didnt have the letter yet. so maybe you should send it as much in advance as possible the doctors might have email adresses too, if the surgery has a website you can look there. email will be quicker obviously but there might be more chance of someone else looking at it

I don't know if they do something similar where you are?
