Changing Pdoc

I can't continue seeing my current Pdoc -he's too expensive, and he completely disregards everything I say. I told him about the voices and he just changed the subject.

I need to find one closer to home, for me to see my current one for 20mins involves a three day trip, it's unfeasible.

If I find a new one can I have him/her request my files from the old one without having to tell my current one I'm leaving? I really don't want to have any more contact with him at all.

The pdoc you have def sounds like a big waste of time and money!

I'm afraid idk how it all works but you could always make contact with a new pdoc and explain the situation and see what they say? usually when i see different people I dont need to do anything about files, whenever i see a new specialist they always seem to have the same file tho they often end up asking all the same questions anyway.

Hi, sorry I don't know the answer to your question - I'm not familiar with how things work in Ireland. But is there a lot in your file (how long have you been seeing the current one)? Would it be feasible to just start "afresh" with the new pdoc?

That's a really good point, I've been seeing him since March, but it's only actually been I think 4 appointments in that whole time.

It probably is just worth starting over, and as you said Emma, they always ask the same things anyway.

Thanks Emma and Myla, you've given me some things to think about :)
