verbena Posted August 5, 2004 Report Share Posted August 5, 2004 Befuddled, He married and had a son and moved two states away. Now my parents worship him from afar. My sisters and I still have to hear too much about him and his nasty(nicest word for her)wife every time we call them. My parents are getting on in years and I have given in. They will never admit anything to us girls, and I don't know that it would be fair, given their ages to force the issue. We just cut conversations short when his name comes up. It is the one subject that will bum me out. It sure made it hard to talk to my mom too - until she fianlly thawed out and admitted she was on the receiving end of his nastiness - and she admitted it too late. Oh well, keep him at a distance and you'll be ok. Just wanted you to know I understand and I will be here to listen if you want to talk about him.
