To anyone not aware of this site, its a free online course focused around CBT and im finding it really useful. Just tap it into Google to find it as i dont have the address to hand.

Something ive learnt and makes so much sense from the program - "What you think is what you feel" So to change how you feel, you have to challenge how you think and change it. Im sure most of you know this anyway, but thought id make a topic for those who dont.

I went to see what it was and check it out, it is pretty tough to read all that text when you are having problems with concentration, can't decide if I think it could be good or find it too formulaic. I'll have to try again later. One of the problems I have always had with basic CBT is it feels cold, like they are saying just pay attention an apply yourself. I wonder if I personally am needing an approach far more nurturing and validating than they offer?

But I did enjoy taking the assessment:

RESULTS FOR THE DEPRESSION TEST - In the MIDDLE TO HIGH RANGE.
You have more depression symptoms than the average person your age.

RESULTS FOR THE ANXIETY TEST - In the HIGH TO VERY HIGH RANGE.
A score in this range may indicate that you experience high anxiety. MoodGYM may help you overcome some of your anxieties and insecurities.
You may also need professional help if you find these symptoms very distressing. There are a number of anxiety conditions that respond well to specialist intervention.

RESULTS FOR THE WARPY THOUGHTS ASSESSMENT MODULE (%)

The need for approval from others 5%
The sense of being able to influence/be responsible for other people's emotional reactions 5%
The need to succeed 8%
The need to be loved 15%

The sense of feeling deserving 19%

The need to be perfect 23%

Happiness is contingent upon external things 24%

The tests are useful to monitor your progress throughout the course. It may not be for some and i wouldnt suggest otherwise but i have to say i find the chunks of reading difficult at times, but its easy to pick up and drop anytime and i can see they've tried to break it up a little. I try and do just a little each day :)
