ArtMatters Posted September 15, 2013 Report Share Posted September 15, 2013 lol p.s. if you guys want me to stop posting them I will-- I just like to share them with an audience and get feedback since I still don't really know what to do with them as I've been writing them but am really new to poetry/writing....I signed up for a poetry class so I'm hoping maybe the teacher can read a few and give me some feedback and such too so I can get an idea of what would be good i.e. blog vs zine vs self publishing etc cuz I'm clueless...kinda tried to start a blog but that didn't go well (as some of you know) cuz the guy who was showing me how decided to creep on me (urgh don't get me started lol) anyways rambling aside here's a new one I wrote today, sometimes I get in art mode and I just kind or purge out some of my creativity lol Take that sick sad awful feeling inside Sit next to it and drink tea Tell it you won’t fight Not this time Sit with it through the storm Sit with it through the news The stories of other hurts Sit with it through false senses of security Sit with it through brand name friends The ones who always wear them threads And tell each other how to think How to act and how to speak.. Sit with it through fake clippings Of fake stories on digital screens Eating the fake nutrients in the Single serving food packets That provide fake comfort When no one wants to face the truth Sit with it anyways….try to see it’s beauty Like rainbows on an oil spill or Snowflakes on my new suede boots Remember that hurt like a raindrop recycled Like Van Gogh’s tears.. Now run down my face Thus knowing the potential The works of art, of starry nights That come to life out of bitter strife Of angst, loneliness, grief & despair Of the emotions we don’t speak of, That make us worse for wear Like shame and guilt And anger too But mostly vulnerability… (Between me and you) Sit with it when you don’t know why Even if you have to cry Sit with it through the devils hour When it’s him and you and your 3rd or 4th shower Sit with it in the bitter cold When the wind bites your face And the presents are sold When you know you will have Your biggest performance Of hiding that hurt like it’s freaking Chuck Norris Sit with it now and just let it stay You don’t have to hold it or keep it at bay Just let it be, as real as it gets Hope that one day your brain just forgets And in time it might lessen some too And there might be a lesson in there for you So no matter what happens or why Know you know how to Sit with it and try Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What I don't love...............is the message that I perceive is contained within?....................have you sought any support or advice??..................you can confirm or deny in a pm but I would prefer you talked to someone professionally as I think it would be the best course in the long run.
